Pleased to offer this very early original 1953 Gibson Les Paul. Released in 1952 the Les Paul guitar by Gibson, the Les Paul revolutionized the electric guitar and by the time they received serial numbers in 1953, the Les Paul was hitting its stride.
This Goldtop “standard” is all original except pots have been replaced but wired for 1950s (treble bleed) and it has had an ancient stable headstock repair that was done well.
Original trapeze tailpiece, pickguard, P-90 pickups, tuners and finish. The neck feels fantastic (measurements in the photos) and still has original frets on most of the neck, with a few replaced or just flattened out from play on lower frets.
The vintage mahogany body islightweight by modern standards (see pic). A few nicks but overall in very good condition and nice age checking on the gold top.
This is an excellent example of an early 1950s Gibson Les Paul and a pure electric Time Machine. Comes with modern Les Paul case.
