1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom #837815 Manufactured 4th quarter 1968 shipped 1st Quarter 1969

Here is a true gem. A 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Manufactured in late 1968 and shipped early 1969 according to Gibson Ledgers and Gibson verification. It has a 1 piece full depth Honduran mahogany body (NO laminate crossband!), 1 piece mahogany back, 2 piece maple top, 3 piece mahogany neck without volute or made in USA stamp. It has the middle transitional tenon neck joint. The pearl headstock logo has the open b and o and no dot over the i. The tuners are the original waffle back Klusons and the controls are the typical witch hat knobs. The M69 rings are fitted with T-top humbuckers (Bridge measuring 7.90 and neck 7.85) which have the original patent number stickers Pat No 2,737,842 and the original set of Sprague “black beauty” capacitors and CTS pots with codes 1376852 (52nd week of 1968) are still present. Untouched solders. No hum and very crisp and loud! The nylon saddles of the ABR bridge are still in great condition and original. The original aluminum tailpiece Pat No 2.740.313 is in very good condition with the heavy rounded edges like the 50s ones.

The original ebony nitro-lacquer finish has beautiful slight checking and the gold parts have a nice patina. The neck has the typical C shape like a 50s profile with very comfortable rounded fingerboard edges. It still has the original Fretless Wonder very low frets. Very low action.

No cracks, repairs, refinishing or overspray.

Late 69 Faultless 0535 Plush Case, handle broken, Purple interior. It had an original A version with Orange interior and Bruce handle but it was stolen and replaced with a period correct late 1969 case.
