Now here is a cool players grade vintage guitar we are proud to offer: a 1954 Gibson Les Paul that has that magical thing that sets these 1950s Les Pauls apart.

Brought to us by the son of the original owner, it was purchased from Sam Ash Music on 48th Street in New York City. In 1970, the neck was broken beyond repair and Sam Ash sent it to Gibson for a factory re-neck.

Gibson put on it what looks to be a 1968 serial number but the logo inlay and 3 piece neck say 1969 to me, which would be about right for a 1970 repair. It is an excellent playing neck, wide with heft but not too much. Also looks like a refret so the frets are in great playing shape. 

The electronics are original except the switch and these P-90s sound just amazing. Warmth with strength and just such a full sound. 

The body is original and the finish has that perfect amount of natural checking and that slight peel of green undercoat starting to come through. The mojo of the top and the sound of the original pickups are why this guitar has it. 

In 1990, the original owner took it to Elderly Music in Michigan and had them install a compensating Bad Ass Bridge. Every real player knows this is vast improvement in intonation and given the re-neck, I agree with his decision to just keep it a great player…and keep playing! New strap buttons but originals included. 

At roughly half the price of an all original 1954 Les Paul, this 1954 not only plays great but it is also a bargain. With the original Lifton case, if you’ve been wanting a quality and mostly original ‘54 Goldtop at a great price, this is it.

Pleased to offer this first year Fender Stratocaster from 1954. This is Stratocaster 433 made with a June ‘54 neck and body (refinished). According to Gruhn’s, the loaded guard and electronics appear to be from the late 1950s or early 1960. The neck is a rounded C not a soft V that came later and has been refretted and is in great playing shape. Not a museum piece but a beautiful and great playing first year Strat at a fair price. Includes a modern case.

Pleased to offer this original early 1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Gibson only made 355 of these in 1955 and this is one of those great guitars. First of the Les Paul Customs, when came with speed (Barrel) knobs. 

The Alnico “staple” pickup in the neck along with the P-90 in the bridge make it a brilliant yet rich tone. All original but has been refretted for playability. Some but not much wear on the original gold tailpiece.

Pleased to offer this rare factory mono 1960 Gibson ES-355 in a perfect original Cherry red finish. This guitar is in excellent condition and is gorgeous.

It has a semi-hollow, thinline body, maple block and a more ‘59 C mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard refretted.

It packs two original Patent Applied For (PAF) humbucking pickups,Tune-o-matic bridge with a factory Bigsby vibrato tailpiece and gold hardware.

This 1960 ES-355 is a dream to play and a true example of vintage Gibson quality and history. Comes with original case.

Pleased to offer this 1962 Gibson Les Paul (SG). This wonderful player’s grade ‘62 LPSG has had some knocks but some recent refreshing has yielded a ‘62 Les with new life and a great player. 

Just refretted and with a new Gibson aged  “vintage” sideway vibrola tailpiece, this old Gibson is feeling good on the fretboard but now with improved intonation with the updated tailpiece. 

The electronics (pots, wiring, switch, jack) are original. A modern ‘57 Classic bridge pickup but in the neck is the original Patent number sticker PAF. 

The neck thin taper with a wide nut but has had a headstock repair. It also appears to have a very thin heel repair and there is overspray over both areas. These appear to be very old and stable repairs. 

Priced as a quality player’s grade 1962 Les Paul that has an amazing sound and feel…and it looks pretty cool too. Included original yellow lined case.

Here’s a clean and super cool original Gibson Melody Maker single pickup from 1965. Someone babied this beautiful example with that double cutaway with the wider body.

It’s got that perfect look and feel of a great Gibson from the greatest era and sounds excellent. It even includes its original alligator chipboard case.

You won’t find one cleaner so pickup this fun one for something a little different.

Just in is this late 1970 / early 1971 from the owner since 1974. In naturally aged yellowed Alpine White,  it has that perfect checking that no custom shop can duplicate.

Original patent number t-top humbuckers, 3 pots date to late 1970 and one from 1974, likely when my guy bought it.  All parts appear original and it sounds wonderful and the neck is heavenly. Some definite play wear and a little chipping of finish on the neck near the headstock but does not affect anything. Just some natural wear in places but no repairs. 

All Randy Rhoads disciples will appreciate this vintage Les Paul as part of their collection and it is just a joy to rock. Includes original case.

In the early 1970s, Gibson got creative with their SG line of electric guitars. This SG-1 is an example of this and this version is simple, sleek and incredible tone. 

With a single mini-humbucker with black plastic cover and black control cavity cover give it a unique look on a walnut finish. It has a brighter tone than an SG Standard with the single mini-humbucker and feels like an SG Junior in many ways. 

It has a very comfortable neck with unbound fretboard and nice low action. All original with no breaks or repairs and an excellent and clean walnut finish. It’s a rocker! Includes HSC. 

Here’s one that’s been a trusted friend to a veteran rocker, a sweet cherry sunburst 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom. With some of the last T-top Pat number stamped humbuckers dated September 7 and 11, 1978, this guitar is a rock machine. 

Besides the switch tip and a refret it is all original and the pots date to late Summer 1978. Nothing beats a solid great sounding Les Paul and this has more than proven her worth over the years. Now it’s someone else’s turn…birth year guitar perhaps? 

Nut width, neck depth, weight are in the photos, Ebony fretboard is in just amazing condition. Just the right amount of wear on the factory gold hardware. Very comfortable neck.

Only made between 1982 and 1984, these are the early Les Paul Studio models made by Gibson. With a thinner body and the Kahler fine tuning locking nut tailpiece made for Gibson, they made a Studio Standard and this rare Studio Custom.

These are incredible to play and very comfortable but not chambered. All original including Shaw PAF pickups give it wide range of tone with a crunch that won’t quit. Includes original chainsaw case.
