1958 Fender Bassman

1958 Fender Bassman

Just in - This late 1958 Fender Bassman amp, loaded with original blue Jensen speakers. This 1958 Fender Bassman model 5F6-A is in really good condition, unlike most of these that survive today. I played a 1961 Fender Stratocaster through this and it had a deep full warmth with that classic Fender on Fender shimmer of the high end tones but with a slight overdrive when I cranked the guitar volume. This could be the best guitar amplifier I’ve ever played, especially for the clean Fender sound.

While many think Leo Fender’s Telecaster and Stratocaster guitars are his crowning achievement, I believe it was his electric Precision Bass Guitar and his amplifiers that paved the way for so much in the music of the mid-20th century to today. So many incarnations of his amplifiers, each new one trying to add something to make it even better. Many believe this was his pinnacle.

While originally intended for the electric bass guitar, these late 1958 and 1959 Fender Bassman amps with 4 x 10 inch speakers in a narrow panel frame quickly became the favorite of guitarists ever since. The moment you plug into this ‘58 Fender Bassman, you will understand the fuss and the price of these rare amps. This is truly as good as it gets for an electric guitar amplifier and anyone who has played one knows it.

Original Jensen P-10Rs (top 220842, bottom 220843) reconed by Weber and it perfectly preserved these original Jensens. This Bassman has been fully serviced with some changed caps but it has all of the original Astrons. With grounded power cord, a good reproduction handle and canvas cover.

This ‘58 Bassman is one of the best sounding vintage amplifiers you will ever experience.
